Holiday on Lipsi island
Lipsi, the small island where Calypso witches Ulysses. Located 2 hours drive from Kos (Hippocrates International Airport) it is part of a group of small islands including Makronissi, Frago, Plavi, Arki and Aspronissi. A beautiful archipelago of islands where to enjoy the sea, the sun, the natira, a simple life with Greek rhythms.
On the small natural harbor stands the small town with its white and blue houses on top of the chora. On the waterfront there are numerous taverns, cafes and restaurants. The island also deserves a visit to the many churches; including the most famous church of Panaghia Tou Choru where the festival in honor of the Virgin Mary takes place on August 30th.
Among the beaches of Lipsi: all not equipped there are Lindou with the transparent sea and shallow water is the most popular being very close from the village of Lipsi. Platy Yalos is the most beautiful sandy beach in the north. Katasadia is situated in a beautiful natural setting, while Chochlakoura is famous for its pebbles, rocks and caves.
Getting to Kos airport you can reach Kos city comfortably by taxi (price € 38 one way for max 4 people) or by shuttle (price € 3.20)
The sea connections between Kos and Lipsi are in the morning (to check the connections click here) so it is necessary to spend the first and last night Kos; we suggest hotel Kosta palace near the port (check availability and prices here)
In Lipsi we suggest an excellent family-run Calypso hotel located on the harbor. (Check availability and book here)
