Excursions of your holiday in Leros
Island of Leros already offers many places of interest and routes linked to its past rich in history, but given its position, it is also possible to make excursions to the neighboring islands.
During your stay in Leros you can, for example, spend a day on a gulet. The gulet is the typical Turkish wooden boat, also widespread in the Dodecanese seas. These are boats originally used for fishing and then, given the size of the spaces and the available amenities, used later for tourist use. The excursion boats leave in the morning from the port of Aghia Marina to the island of Lipsi. During the day the gulet makes some short stops in bays, beaches and coves for swimming and sunbathing; the longest stop is in Lipsi, where you will have a few hours to visit. The excursions are carried out on reaching the minimum number, in the low season only once a week.
The islands of Patmos and Kalymnos are easily accessible from Leros. Local ferries connect the two islands daily; times can be a little uncomfortable as they generally leave early in the morning to get back at lunchtime.
