Getting around – rent a car or scooter on Kos
Getting around Kos is really easy. The island of Kos, 43 km in lenght has only one main road that connects the capital Kos town to Kefalos, passing through the airport. From the main road are leading several village roads to the various resorts and villages or beautiful beaches.
Bike rental on Kos
The north part of the island of Kos with Lambi, Psalidi and Tigaki is particularly suitable for cycling. Kos town has a good number of cycle paths and quiet roads that lead to the most isolated beaches. Rent a bike is easy and cheap, just keep in mind that in the south (Kardamena and Kefalos) there are road sections of discrete gradient and therefore difficult to do on by bicycle.
Scooter and motorcycle rental on Kos
For your convenience, but also to be autonomous to turn around the island of Kos in complete freedom. It is advisable to rent a scooter or motorcycle. There are many rental companies in Kos town and other resorts. It is advisable to book the scooter in advance for the period of June, July and August, or if you want to rent a particular model of scooter-moto. The price of the scooters normaly include basic insurance that covers damage to third parties, while full insurance is always optional!
Car rental on Kos
Although to get around the island of Kos is sufficient 2 wheels rent, if you are a family or 3-4 persons is advisable to rent a car. We suggest to rent a car for at least 3 days in a way to enjoy the beautiful beaches of the south of the island of Kos and at the spend same time in various towns and villages. Even in this case be very careful about insurance covers.
