The beaches of Kos Town can be reached on foot or by bicycle along the cycling path that connects the historic center and the areas of Lambi and Psalidi. This part of Kos is sheltered from the wind; many beaches are equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, but you will also easily find free beaches. Often the sunbeds and umbrellas are free of charge; of consummation is required.

Beaches at the North Mastichari Marmari and Tigaki

This is the northern area of Kos; a wide beach of fine sand with low, warm and transparent sea. Since it is exposed to the wind, it is ideal on less windy days. Often the sea can be rought; even if you still manage to swim. Many of the beaches between Marmari, Tigaki and Mastichari are occupied by large hotels, but there are also many free beaches and some with sunbeds and umbrellas. The most beautiful beaches in the South Kos

This part of the islands is the least inhabited, there are not so many hotels and buildings; therefore it is the most beautiful from a naturalistic point of view. You will find signs on the main road indicating different beaches reachable by a short dirt road. After Kefalos, the last village of Kos, it is worth exploring the wildest part of Kos; beaches stuck between rocks and paths; deserted or with few people even in very high season.

Among the most beautiful beaches in the southern part of Kos we point out:

  • Polemi beach together with the Magic Beach with calm sea, transparent and with few people
  • Diamond beach on the tip of the island, between its rocks and sand
  • ruins of Agios Stefanos with the islet of Kastri; one of the symbols of the island
