The Bodrum peninsula or Milasa as it is officially called, extends for about 30 km from Bodrum to Turgutreis. The whole coast has many bays and resorts all well connected with the main city. This liveliest area equipped for tourism and is situated between Bodrum and Trurgutreis, while on the northern part are many of large luxury hotel chains. Bodrum center, offers great holiday opportunities for the visitors with its intense nightlife, beautiful beaches, amazing coves, wonderful nature, historical sites, quality hotels and holiday villages.
In front of Bodrum is the island Karada known for its mineral springs. A small portion of the springs is visible from the jetty, but there’s a gap in the rocky overhang, that gives you access to the mineral springs within the cave. We watched a few folks enjoying the springs – but didn’t explore them ourselves.
Gümbet tourist resort
Gumbet is a lively beach resort and a popular tourist destination on the Aegean coast of Turkey, 3 km from famous Bodrum resort. It also draws in people who are after the frenzied nightlife of neighbouring resort of Bodrum, but who want to have a room next to a beautiful beach to stroll out onto in the morning.
Bitez holiday resort
Only 7 km. from Bodrum town is one of the favourite destinations of both watersports enthusiasts and those in pursuit of calm and tranquillity. Accomodations ranges from small family run guest houses to luxury hotels with facilities of international standard, all within a few paces of the sandy beaches. Bitez bay is pramier location for windsurfing and dinghy sailing instruction, with the open sea just beyond the experienced sailer. The shaded paths running through the mandarin growes between the sea and the village are another sorce of pleasure and interest, and vistors expect a warn wellcome in the village tea house.
Akyarlar is also a popular holiday resort in Bodrum peninsula, located 13 km. from the central Bodrum and on the most south westerly point of the peninsula.Yalikavak is a nice resort located 18 km. from the central Bodrum, on the north west coast of the Bodrum peninsula.Yalikavak is famous for its windmills, mandarins, fresh fish and sponges.There are nice and wide beaches in Yalikavak. The region is the most wind taking ones in the Bodrum peninsula. The nearby coves of Pasa, Tilkicik and Agacbasi are also beautiful one for sea lovers.
Turgutreis is a popular holiday resort and the second largest town of the Bodrum peninsula. Turgutreis is located on the south-west end of the Bodrum peninsula, 20 km. from central Bodrum. The accommodation and shopping facilities are very well developed in Turgutreis. Also one of the biggest yacht marinas in Bodrum is located in Turgutreis.Turgutreis beach is a fine one of the Bodrum beaches. Turgutreis beach is 2 km. long and there are numerous hotels and apartments on the cove.
