We just spent a week aboard the Gumus 1, and this was probably one of the best holidays we have ever had. The organisation and communication by your company were faultless. We were welcomed onto the gulet in Bodrum port. Mrs Susan gave us obvious information’s about the position of the boat, so it was very easy to find them.
The boat is not high lux category; we did not pay for this. But it is very nice and absolutely big! Well-maintained and safe. The crew took great pride in keeping it that way too, cleaning and polishing whenever they could. The cabins and bathrooms were spacious enough for two people and always very. There is plenty of room on the boat whether you want to sit in the shade or sunbathe on the top deck. We spent very little time in our cabin, preferring to be on the deck relaxing, reading or chatting in the sunshine and fresh air.
The captain was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble for him. He kept us informed in very good English, what is not so obvious on Turkish gulets.
Erhan, the remarkable chef, served delicious meals every day consisting of so many different dishes. We also had the barbecued fish that was delicious. The meals were excellent also on our previous cruises, on this cruise were even better.
We spent the week visiting the Greek islands of North Dodecanese. Most of the time we swam and snorkelled straight off the boat in the clear blue water. On two of the days, they took us ashore on the tender so we could visit Pandelli village on Leros and the caves somewhere in Lipsi. Some evening we stop in small ports; Lipsi and Patmos were the most beautiful places we visit.
We have decided we want to do it again next year and are planning to ask more of our family to join us.
The cabins can get very hot during the night (in August, not sure about other months) as the air conditioning is only available in some hours. We had the option to sleep on deck under the stars
Our experience on Gumus 1 boat and its people was a very positive and friendly one. We were sad to leave and will certainly be back.
All the best
