Gulet Kaptan Kadir has 5 master cabins and one twin bedded cabin for up to 12 guests. All the cabins have the same size and facilities, ie. walk around queen size bed (in master cabins), a desk, sofa, minibar, en-suite bathroom with shower tub, plasma TV and air-conditioning.
Gulet Kaptan Kadir is a 5-star hotel on the water, an authentic reconstruction of a traditional Turkish schooner-style vessel known as a gulet. The main decks layout changes from that of traditional gulets, where guests had fewer gathering spaces, to an arrangement more conducive to privacy and traffic circulation. There is still a large sunpad at the stern, followed by a seating area with cocktail tables where most other gulets have their outdoor dining. Moving forward, you come to the raised main saloon, which on most other gulets takes up the rest of the amidships deck space.
The gulet is a classic wooden boat, which has its origins in Turkey, to then be exported all over the world. Originally the gulet was used by Turkish fishermen as a work boat, for fishing and for transporting goods. Therefore, it is fascinating to think about how these boats sailed along the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea hundreds of years ago. However, because of the breadth of its spaces, once equipped with all the comforts, the intended use of the gulet has become a tourist destination.
