Useful information
Crew on a gulet cruise
Crew consists of the captain, the cook and one / two sailors, depending on the size of the boat. They are usually of Turkish nationality on gulet cruises that depart from Bodrum, Fethiye, Kemer and Marmaris, and of Greek nationality for the cruises from Mykonos, Rhodes, Sporades and the Ionian islands. Turkish crew usually speaks basic English, but it is always possible to find ways to communicate and be understood. Greek crew speaks better English. The crew can give you useful information about life on board and places to visit.
Itinerary/Routes useful information
Indicative gulet routes are described on our website, but pls note that are always subject to weather conditions, maritime traffic and authorities’ decisions. Our captains try to respect the route as much as possible, but they have the authority to change itinerary at any time and plan an alternative route when the weather conditions (strong wind or rough sea) do not allow navigation. Decisions of the captain and of the port authorities are final, are unquestionable and are not subject to reimbursements.
Embarkation and disembarkation
Boarding is the first day after 3pm until late. Gulet stays in the port of embarkation the first evening and night and starts the navigation the next morning. Gulets are moored at the ports of tourist towns; not in private marinas. They do not have a fixed place, so the final boarding position can usually only be communicated on the day of boarding or the night before. It is important to communicate useful information during the booking process such as the mobile number active during the trip.
Gulets returns to base port in the afternoon of the day before disenbarcation. It is therefore possible to disembark early in the morning. On the last day the cabins must be vacated by 10 am; we can store our luggage on the boat until you leave.
Cleaning on board
Crew takes care of daily cleaning as well as the final cleaning of the boats. The common areas are cleaned several times a day, while in the cabins the basket bins are emptied and the bathroom is cleaned every day. The beds are not redone.
Useful information about smoking on board
On board smoking is allowed in the external areas of the boat and in respect of the other guests. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the cabins. Remember that the boats are made entirely of wood! We also remind you that both in Turkey and in Greece, the anti-smoking law prohibiting smoking in public places is in force.
Electricity and WI-FI
On board there is always electricity from 12 to 24 volts; 220 volts are guaranteed from generator which will be switched on for a few hours a day in the harbor / port or during navigation. Your captain will warn you about the generator switch-on times during which you can recharge mobile phone batteries and more. Low current is always guaranteed (light), however it is not always possible to use hair dryers, electric razors, etc. Power outlets are adapted to European standards. Some gulets have the inverter; in this case the 220 volt current is guaranteed all day long.
WI-FI connection in the gulets is not guaranteed. Almost every day, however, it is possible to connect to the network of various marinas / ports. In the case of navigation in Greece you can use your data as at home if you are from EU country.
Insurance
Insurance for damage and collisions is included; passengers are advised to take out a private insurance policy for any accidents or illnesses.

Useful information on tips for the crew

They are delivered to the captain at the end of the cruise and are divided among all crew members. A tip of 5-10% of the cruise cost per person is suggested.
